A land-based campus with residential facilities located within the Glynllifon estate.
State-of-the-art facilities
The Coleg Glynllifon campus consist of 300 hectares of farm and forestry, providing a great environment for studying a range of land-based courses. This includes, Agriculture, Small Animal Care, Forestry, Agri engineering and Countryside Management.
The £7.4 million state-of-the-art teaching block provides contemporary facilities for classroom-based learning, IT rooms, plus a library & resource centre and a large lecture theatre. The campus has recently opened a new animal care centre with specialist facilities that are home to a range of small and exotic animals.
There are kitchens and workrooms on campus for the Independent Living Skills Department.
Diverse opportunities
Students at the college can gain hands-on experience on Coleg Glynllifon’s working farm which has recently invested in the cattle roundhouse and a state-of-the-art pig unit.
The farm currently has:
- A crossbred Autumn calving dairy herd
- A Spring calving Stabiliser and Welsh Black beef herd
- A lowland flock of 500 Llŷn ewes
- 50 Continental terminal sire flock
- A pig herd of 50 Welsh and Hybrid sows
As well as the working farm, the campus also has an animal studies centre, engineering centre and forest & sawmill.
Coleg Glynllifon provides training opportunities for people from all walks of life and is a supportive and friendly place to study. This includes a range of apprenticeship programmes and a variety of short courses to support individuals working in the Agricultural and Forestry sector to achieve and maintain up to date qualifications.
